Since the day we came up with the idea of “Let’s” the focus was always been to help people meet each other. Why, you may ask? Well, I am a strong believer that half the battle of getting to know someone is actually being given the opportunity to meet them.
Today many people looking to meet like-minded others, make friends or find companions have been using apps such as Tinder, Happn, Hinge, Bumble or similar. But let’s be honest, many of those apps focus on matching people based on looks and not many people read the users profiles. If you do kudos you are part of a very distinct group, let’s call you the 1% percenters.
Now I’m not going to sit here and argue that people don’t care about looks because we all know that that’s not true, but at the same time we also know that many of us have close friends that we would most probably have swiped Left (not interested) to, and we so glad they are in our lives today and we didn’t make our decision like we do with a Tinder deck. It is for this reason we came up with the idea of “Let’s”.
“Let’s” is a simple, fun and efficient mobile app that help you find people nearby that want to join you in doing an activity of your choosing. At the same time it helps you in find people and activities taking place nearby that you can join.
On “Let’s” users start by creating an activity they would like to do, and would enjoy a companion or friend to joining them; such as grabbing a bite, having a drink, going for a jog, etc.
During the creation process the app gathers important information about the type of activity, location, time and your ideal companion. Once you are done, your activity is then displayed to other users nearby that might want to join you.
Other users swipe left or right to express their interest in joining you and as we get interested responses we notify you in real-time and give you the opportunity to connect with the people of your choosing by sending them an invite.
In a short period of time our users go from being on the app, to meeting up in person and having a great time together.
You might be asking yourself, what does this have to do with my quality of life? Well, there are two answers to this. One by myself, Hashvin, the founder of “Let’s” and the other by the UN and European Union.
Meeting people, being social and trying new adventurous things … that is truly living and it’s fun.
The European Union says:
Leisure, the time people spend outside their productive activities, has a major impact on their sense of well-being, happiness and life satisfaction. Social interactions Apart from its basic function of meeting the natural human need for socializing, more frequent and more rewarding social interaction is also associated with better health, improved chances of finding a job and even of living in a better neighborhood (with less crime, for instance).
